Dodital

Dodital is a freshwater lake in uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, India, situated at a height of 3,657 metres. The Assi Ganga river emerges from Dodital and joins Bhagirathi at the confluence in Gangori, near Uttarkashi. The lake is named after sage Dodi who had mediated there.

Uttarkashi City

Uttarkashi the land of Vishwanath , is a district of Garhwal division of the Uttarakhand state in northern India and its headquarters is Uttarkashi city.

The district lies high in the Himalaya, and the district contains the source of both the Ganga and Yamuna rivers attracting thousands of Hindu pilgrims. The town is situated on the main route to Gangotri and has many Hindu temples, and is also considered an important Hindu pilgrimage centre.
